The Teaching Social Justice Mathematics Symposium will focus on integrating social issues and social justice topics related to equity, fairness, and inclusion in undergraduate mathematics courses. This 3-day symposium will bring together content experts and mathematics faculty from various Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) institutions to explore ideas and develop modules related to teaching and learning mathematics from a social justice lens.
Participation in the symposium is free. Travel and lodging, along with a modest stipend, will be provided to each participant. Funding and support for this symposium is provided by ACS, Spelman, Morehouse, and Rollins Colleges.

Goals of the Symposium
The primary goal of the symposium is to develop and cultivate a community of practitioners who are committed to integrating social issues into undergraduate mathematics. This symposium will bring ACS faculty together to accomplish this goal and set an agenda for future work in this area.

What will you learn?
During the symposium, faculty will attend talks and engage in small-group discussions to help generate ideas related to teaching and learning mathematics with a social justice lens. Faculty will also have an opportunity to collaborate and more fully develop their ideas into modules for use in their classrooms.
